88 and 90 Lex is one of my favorite new Condo projects in Manhattan. Previously known as Lex Lofts, this Condo conversion highlights some of the finest loft units in Manhattan. There is a lot of new construction in the City, but not all buildings are worth the price of admission.
I recall visiting friends many years ago in the old Lex Lofts building. The ceilings were high and Apartments unique. Some units had balconies and they served as excellent rental units for many tenants.
88 and 90 Lex borders the Gramercy, Flatiron, and NoMad neighborhoods. Madison Square Park is only a few short blocks away. For those unfamiliar with the Madison Square Park, this is a wonderful boutique Park convenient to many attractions.
88 and 90 Lex features one to four bedroom units, a spectacular indoor pool, concierge, children’s playroom and twenty four hour doorman. The Apartments have detailed finishes and are well designed.
In 2015, Ziel Feldman of HFZ Capital announced that he was combining the two rental apartment buildings at 88 and 90 Lexington Avenue into one condominium development.
88 Lexington was originally built in 1927 as a 17 story property, designed by Necarsulmer & Lehlbach.
90 Lexington Avenue on the southwest corner at 27th Street was built in 1959 as a 13 story office building and was designed by Carson & Lundin.
In 2013, Westwood Partners purchase Lex Lofts for $55 million and converted to 73 condominium apartments.
As a local resident in the neighborhood, I have passed by this new development on a frequent basis. This project has come together in a short amount of time. The indoor pool stands out every time. It’s a remarkable amenity in this building.
