As a designated Zillow and Streeteasy expert for 201 East 21st Street, the Quaker Ridge, this location in the heart of Gramercy is as good as it gets. Being a neighborhood resident for the past 20 years, I have explored every facet of this area. The charm it provides is unlike any other. Whether you plan to enjoy the private clubs in Gramercy Park, eat at the wonderful restaurants or raise a family, this location is amazing!
201 East 21st was converted to a Co-Op in 1982 and features 263 total Apartments. The units are spacious with some offering spectacular views of Gramercy Park and Union Square. Pets are allowed and there is a full-time Doorman in the building. Throughout my years of experience working in this building, I have always found the monthly maintenance expenses to be affordable. The asset is extremely well run and the financials of the building are sound.
Living in Gramercy has always been an ideal location for me. As a Real Estate Broker servicing Manhattan and New Jersey, the East 20’s allow for an easy commute throughout the Tri-State.
Buyers often feel they will be priced out of Gramercy. However, there are numerous buildings including the Quaker Ridge that allow for well-priced Apartment purchase. New construction buildings sell for a much higher amount, but there are plenty of nice older Co-Op buildings that make a great home for years to come.
201 East 21st Neighborhood Perks
- Irving Place is around the corner with wonderful restaurants including Friend of a Farmer, Pete’s Tavern and Casa Mono.
- Gramercy Park is across the Street. While this building doesn’t offer a key to the Park, it’s a wonderful place to stroll every night. And take advantage of private social clubs such as the National Arts and the Players Club.
- The East River is blocks away and an ideal place to run by the Water
- Easy L train access on 14th Street to Brooklyn
- Close proximity to Union Square and Grand Central Terminal
As a true expert in Gramercy, I can advise anyone that this would be a great place to call home. However, as always, make certain the price you are paying is at fair market. Also, keep in mind, many buildings in Gramercy are older Co-Op buildings that have strict sublet policies. If your intention is to rent the unit in several years, verfiy the Co-Op will allow for that.
