Four decades of reinvention on the fairways
St. Andrews grew out of a planned unit development that Palm Beach County first zoned in 1980 on farmland north of Clint Moore Road, bounded on the west by Florida's Turnpike. County resolutions from the mid-1980s show the master plan being expanded and then trimmed by about 100 acres, with St. Andrews Development Company of Boca Raton, Inc. among the petitioners. The club counts 1982 as its founding year. A final pod, Lake Estates, was added as Plat 16 in 1992 and holds 45 homes on lots of up to about an acre. The community has a Boca Raton mailing address but sits in unincorporated Palm Beach County, and on December 31, 2023 the member-owned club merged with the St. Andrews Country Club Property Owners Association.
The plan devotes more than two-thirds of the land to recreation: about 700 acres of fairways and 70 acres of lakes, with homes set along curving cul-de-sacs so most lots face a fairway, a lake, or both. County records list 698 single-family homes of about 2,500 to 16,700 square feet on lots of 0.2 to 1.2 acres, and owners have steadily replaced 1980s houses with larger modern estates. The golf has been reworked too. Arnold Palmer's design firm rebuilt the East Course in 2003, creating today's Palmer Course; the second course was redesigned by Tom Fazio II in 2016 and again by Kipp Schulties under a $27.5 million club enhancement plan launched in 2022, which also rebuilt the Lakeside Restaurant and poolside Café Blue. Earlier programs added an 11,000 square foot spa and a renovated tennis and fitness center in 2018.
Palm Beach County Property Appraiser records show 101 home sales by warranty deed of $100,000 or more between October 2023 and September 2026, with a median of about $3.5 million. Prices ran from about $1.15 million for an original three-bedroom to a record $15 million for a 2023-built estate on Ayrshire Lane in April 2026. The rebuild cycle drives the top of the market: one Castlebay Court lot sold for $2 million in December 2023 and resold as a new 8,151 square foot house for $10.25 million in June 2025. Buyers should also budget for the club's membership contribution, reported at $500,000 plus a $50,000 POA owners contribution for 2026 to 2027, and annual dues and assessments.

Living at St. Andrews Country Club
St. Andrews fills a large block between Florida's Turnpike on the west and Jog Road on the east, north of Clint Moore Road, in the suburban grid of west Boca Raton. Daily life centers on the clubhouse, courts, and courses inside the gates, while the public schools, Delray Medical Center, and the Morikami gardens are all within about three miles. Because there is no Turnpike exit at Clint Moore Road, drivers use the Glades Road or Atlantic Avenue interchanges.
- Commute: Florida's Turnpike interchanges at Glades Road (Exit 75), about 3 miles south, and Atlantic Avenue (Exit 81), about 3 miles north; Tri-Rail's Boca Raton station about 4.3 miles east and Brightline's Boca Raton station about 6.4 miles east; President Donald J. Trump International Airport (formerly Palm Beach International) about 19 miles north and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International about 24 miles south (straight-line distances from the clubhouse)
- Parks and golf: 36 holes of private golf on site; Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens about 1.1 miles northeast
- Schools: zoned for Calusa Elementary (2051 Clint Moore Road, about 2.3 miles), Omni Middle (5775 Jog Road, about 1.5 miles), and Spanish River Community High (5100 Jog Road, about 1.7 miles), all in the School District of Palm Beach County; confirm the exact address with the district's locator
- Shopping and hospitals: Town Center at Boca Raton about 4 miles south; Delray Medical Center about 2.7 miles northeast; West Boca Medical Center about 4.7 miles southwest; Boca Raton Regional Hospital about 5.5 miles southeast
