Stonebridge Country Club is a gated golf community of 398 single-family homes in West Boca Raton, laid out around 18 holes and a chain of lakes on the old Southern Manor property. Homes were built from 1985 into the mid-1990s by a range of custom builders, and buying one comes with a required equity membership in the club.

From Southern Manor to a custom-built golf club

Stonebridge sits on land west of State Road 7 that held the Southern Manor golf course in the early 1980s. The Stonebridge Golf and Country Club opened in 1985 with a new 18-hole course by Karl Litten, the Florida architect behind nearby Boca Grove, and within a year it was on the LPGA Tour calendar. The tour's season-opening Florida event was played at Stonebridge from 1986 through 1989, including the 1988 Mazda Classic, which Nancy Lopez won, and the 1989 Oldsmobile LPGA Classic, Dottie Mochrie's first tour win.

Instead of a single builder repeating a few models, Stonebridge brought in a range of custom builders, so the streets show a mix of one-story Mediterranean and contemporary homes, many of them on lots of roughly a third of an acre facing a lake, a fairway, or both. County records list 398 single-family parcels built between 1985 and 1996, including 49 smaller zero-lot-line homes on Spyglass Way. The club has kept reinvesting: the clubhouse was renovated and expanded to about 40,000 square feet, and after about 10 months of construction the course reopened on December 12, 2015, reworked by Kipp Schulties to keep Litten's routing while making it more playable and more natural in its landscaping.

Every home sale requires the buyer to join the club, choosing an Equity Golf or Equity Social membership, and 2025 to 2026 listings cite a $150,000 initiation plus annual dues and association fees. Palm Beach County Property Appraiser records show 69 qualified sales from October 2023 to October 2026, with a median of about $1.0 million. The 49 Spyglass Way homes traded from $310,000 to about $640,000, while the larger custom homes mostly sold between about $675,000 and $1.7 million, topping out at $2.335 million for a renovated five-bedroom on Kirkaldy Lane in November 2025.

Living at Stonebridge

Stonebridge is in unincorporated Palm Beach County with a Boca Raton mailing address, so county rather than city services apply. The single gated entrance is off State Road 7 (US 441) near the west end of Clint Moore Road, and everyday errands are close: a Publix sits at Clint Moore Road and State Road 7, about a mile from the clubhouse. The trade-off of the western location is distance to the coast, with the beaches about 13 miles away by the club's count.
